Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services Acknowledge Australian Federal Police Members

Thursday, 22nd August 2024 – Earlier today, the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) presented tokens of appreciation to two members from the Australian Federal Police (AFP), Mr. David Barancewicz, Team Leader of Radio & Technical Support, and Mr. John Richardson. The recognition was made in honor of their significant contributions to the SPPCS Information Communication & Technology (ICT) team, particularly in the lead-up to the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Commissioner of Police, Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, expressed gratitude for the support provided by the AFP members, noting their efforts in enhancing SPPCS’s ICT capabilities. These enhancements are considered vital for the communication and technological preparedness of SPPCS in hosting CHOGM, ensuring the highest level of security and coordination during the event.

The collaboration between the SPPCS and the AFP continues to be an integral part of the relationship between Samoa and Australia, particularly in areas of law enforcement and technological advancement. The support of the AFP officers has strengthened the ability of the SPPCS to effectively manage and prepare for large-scale international events such as CHOGM.
