On this auspicious day, the 1st of June 2024, we celebrate the 62nd year since Samoa proudly gained its independence. This milestone is a testament to our nation’s resilience, unity, and progress. The Samoa Police, Prisons, and Corrections Services (SPPCS) extends heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all Samoans on this momentous occasion.
As we commemorate this historic day, it is important to reflect on the vital role that the SPPCS has played in safeguarding our nation’s security, upholding the rule of law, and fostering peace and order. Since Samoa’s first steps as an independent nation, the SPPCS has been committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
Throughout these 62 years, the SPPCS has been actively involved in ensuring that each Independence Day celebration is conducted in a safe and orderly manner. Our presence during the parades, ceremonies, and community events has been pivotal in providing security and assistance, allowing Samoans to commemorate this significant day with pride and joy.
