Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services held an opening to kick start the Samoa Phase 2 of the Prosecution Training.
Assistant Commissioner Muliagatele Lorraine Lees on behalf of Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, thanked Senior Sergeant Jodie Lawrence and Senior Sergeant Terry Laws of New Zealand for conducting this training in support of SPPCS’ policing members in the Prosecutions Unit.
She further highlighted that there has been some progress in the prosecution unit since the first training course.
In addition, the Acting Commissioner advised the participants to be optimistic
“I urge you to grasp what you learn, observe and utilize the skills and knowledge you gain from this course, and put it into practice”. Lees said.
Senior Sergeant Jodie Lawrence of New Zealand Police, expressed gratitude towards SPPCS and is thrilled to be back in Samoa.
“Senior Sergeant Terry Law and I are privileged and honoured to present this course again” said Lawrence. I am happy to see some of the officers who were in the first training participate in this second course.
It is noted that at the end of this course, the materials for this training and the complete package of the course will be handed over to the Training Unit to ensure the continuity of this training for SPPCS members and future prosecutors to come.
The course will run for 2 weeks.
