Tuesday, 6th August 2024 – Earlier today, a significant milestone was achieved in the development of Samoa’s law enforcement capabilities with the opening of the second phase of training for the Police Operation Centre & Computer Aided Dispatch system.
The ceremony began with an opening prayer conducted by Senior Sergeant Faalogo Kapeliele Faalogo, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the occasion. Superintendent Laufili Malu Talo welcomed the instructors from the Australian Federal Police (AFP), expressing gratitude for their expertise and collaboration.
Sergeant Andrew Donaldson of the AFP provided a brief overview of the training program, highlighting its importance in enhancing the operational efficiency of the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS). This training is a critical component in preparing the SPPCS for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
Funded entirely by the AFP, this training initiative underscores the strong partnership between Samoa and Australia in strengthening regional security and law enforcement capabilities.
The SPPCS is committed to utilizing this training to enhance its operational readiness and ensure the safety and security of the CHOGM and the Samoan community at large.
