As part of the enhancement work towards the Pacific Islands Prevention Program (PIPP), New Zealand Police, through its delegation, Inspector Brendon Keenan and Senior Sergeant Terry Laws visited Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services in the course of a week. To discuss and have deliberations with SPPCS Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo and the Executive Management team, on how both partners can work to implement a Prevention Operating Model (POM).
This was a result of Commissioner Auapa’au and his delegates’ visit to New Zealand Police last month, which included discussions on prevention approaches. Part of the dialogues done by Inspector Brendon Keenan and Senior Sergeant Terry Laws, were realizing the needs of SPPCS in terms of investigations, prosecution training and support.
In addition to the visit, the delegates were able to have site visitations and were able to meet some of the staff members and departments within SPPCS. Inspector Brendon Keenan and Senior Sergeant Terry Laws left Samoa on Wednesday evening.
It is Samoa Police Prisons and Corrections Services’ privilege to have hosted the New Zealand Police and is appreciative for their ongoing support.
