Sosene Asomaliu, a 25 years old male of Fasitoo-tai who was granted bail by the Supreme Court, was arrested yesterday Wednesday 16 December 2020 by Faleata police on a warrant of arrest for failing to appear at his court hearing.
Asomaliu’s bail conditions impose by the court includes a ban on alcohol and other illegal substances. When he was arrested narcotics were found in his possession.
He is currently facing charges of aggravated robbery, possession of unlawful firearms, burglary and theft, and possession of narcotics.
Asomaliu was apprehended by Police in April 2020 from Faleatiu with the assistance of the village council after his involvement in an incident where he shot at unarmed, uniformed police officers. Luckily no officer was injured.
