On the 29th of May 2019, the Government of Australia gifted new uniforms to the women’s division of the Police Maritime Wing to be worn as part of their preparations for the guardian class patrol boat Nafanua II.
The flame resistant uniforms are valued at ST$5,000 and are essential for long-haul sea voyages and trainings and are in line with the men’s uniform gifted to the Maritime last year in July.
All members of the Police Nafanua crew are now well equipped with the appropriate safety gears and uniforms while they await the arrival of the new Nafanua II.
The uniforms were presented by Australia’s High Commissioner, Her Excellency Sara Moriarty to the Police Commissioner Fuiavailili Egon Keil. Her Excellency emphasized that “Australia is committed to strengthening our Pacific partnerships through stronger ties for security and relationship between our nations”.
