On the 9th of November 2018, the Commissioner Fuiavailiili Egon Keil gave a farewell speech to two police officers who are going to be deployed under the UNMISS DARFUR for a 1-year term.
The commissioner congratulated these officers for their dedication and professionalism in peacekeeping duties while they are under the UN mission in Darfur. He also added that they are going to make the SPS proud as they are representing the government of Samoa and the people. They have to use the opportunity to learn and get more experience while working in Darfur. Furthermore, Fuiavailiili Egon Keil said that when they return they are going to use their skills and experience to not only practice but to share it with other officers.
He again addressed the two officers to be safe. He also thanked the deputy
commissioner and superintendent Lorraine Lees for coordinating and preparing the essentials needed. The Commissioner Egon saluted the officers for their dedication
and sacrifice in ensuring safety, security and the well being for the people of South Sudan. The two officers departed last week Friday. The deploying officers are; Inspector Filipo Iloilo and Constable Samuelu Faaofo.
