In an effort to ensure the safety of the public and young people in Samoa’s town areas, the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services have launched a new initiative known as the Street Vendors Operation.
This operation, which falls under the General Policing Unit, specifically targets young individuals who engage in vending activities on the streets during late hours of the night, particularly on weekends.
The primary objective of the Street Vendors Operation is to address concerns regarding the safety and well-being of both the general public and the young vendors themselves.
By focusing on this specific group, authorities aim to mitigate potential risks and maintain a secure environment within Samoa’s urban areas.
The operation intends to monitor the activities of these young street vendors, ensuring that they adhere to appropriate laws and regulations.
By doing so, the authorities seek to promote a safe and lawful vending environment for both vendors and customers alike.
