Policing operations areas provides the different service requirements of SPS in order to meet the mandatory functions of the service. These functions includes;
- Maintenance of law and order throughout Samoa
- Preservation of Peace in Samoa
- Protection of life and property in Samoa
- Prevention, detection and investigation of crimes in Samoa
- Enforcement of law generally in Samoa
- Participate in regional or international peace keeping functions in places outside of Samoa.
