Earlier today, Wednesday, 17th July 2024, the second cohort of auxiliary members commenced their training to assist the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) during the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The training program was inaugurated by Assistant Commissioner Leausalilo Norman Meni, who warmly welcomed the new recruits. In his opening remarks, Assistant Commissioner Meni emphasized the significance of the opportunity for the auxiliaries to contribute to the SPPCS during CHOGM. He highlighted the prestigious nature of the event, particularly for a small island nation like Samoa, and underscored the honor and responsibility that comes with being selected for this important role.
SPPCS trainers were present to guide the auxiliary members through the initial stages of their preparation. The training aims to equip the auxiliary members with the necessary skills and knowledge to support the SPPCS effectively, ensuring the safety and success of CHOGM.
