The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services (SPPCS) have recently implemented a series of training programs to enhance the skills and preparedness of our officers in anticipation of the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The first program, the Train the Trainer Course, was conducted by the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) and specifically designed for the staff and officers at the Training Division in Matautu. This course aims to equip our trainers with advanced instructional skills, ensuring they can effectively impart knowledge and skills to their peers. This initiative is particularly timely as we prepare for the exciting opening of our new Police Academy.
The second training program is the 7th class of the Basic Foundation course in Close Personal Protection (CPP) training. Conducted by our highly qualified CPP officers, this training is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the security and protection capabilities of our personnel.
Additionally, SPPCS continues to provide First Aid training courses. These courses are essential in ensuring our officers are prepared to respond to medical emergencies, providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to save lives and provide immediate care.
These comprehensive training programs reflect our commitment to the professional development of our officers and our dedication to ensuring the highest standards of service and security. We are confident that these initiatives will significantly contribute to the success of CHOGM and the safety of all participants.
