In an official opening ceremony, the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services welcomed the Heads of Navies and Maritime Forces to our shores for the 6th South West Pacific Heads of Maritime Forces (SWPHMF) Meeting 2023.
The opening ceremony was conducted earlier in the evening at the Tiapapata Art Center, featuring a keynote address from Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa.
In her address, Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa stressed the importance of this gathering.
“This significant meeting will discuss, elaborate, and find solutions to emerging maritime issues, threats, and some of the challenges currently faced the maritime space today” said Mataafa.
Embedding the theme: “Our Blue Pacific: Partnership and Coordination Post-COVID ”.
Over the next two (2) days, the South West Pacific Heads of Maritime Forces (SWPHMF) Meeting 2023 will take place.
Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services is pleased to host the Heads of Navies and Maritime Forces and looks forward to the meeting outcomes.
